This tour combines two adventures in one: dog sledding and a visit to an ice cave! Enjoy a day together with happy huskies in the winter wonderland of Svalbard. Together you travel to one of the nearby glaciers, and the sparkling world of ice that awaits inside it.

Your guide will pick you up at the hotel and take you to the kennel which is located approximately 10 kilometers outside town. Here, nearly 300 eager huskies are waiting for their next tour. Which will be on the lucky ones on your team? Electro, Ginger, Duma or Briz?

You will be equipped with an exposure suit, boots and mittens, before you hop in and help the guide harnessing and preparing the dogs. The barking and howling can seem a bit chaotic at first, but that will change after a short while. As soon as the dogs start to run, they get completely silent. They are fully focused on pulling the sled through the snow, and you can enjoy the magical landscape around you. The goal of the tour is the ice cave inside Scott Turnerbreen (the "Scott Turner Glacier").

The guide will drive first with two sitting guests, and the following sleds will be driven by two guests. You can swap between driving and sitting in the sled. We will follow the river bed that heads into Bolterdalen, a beautiful valley surrounded by mighty mountains. As we approach the glacier, we will enjoy a little roller coaster, driving up and down between the moraine formations. Eventually, we arrive at the ice cave. The dogs enjoy a well-deserved rest outside, while we explore the hidden wonders a few meters down.

A frozen world appears as you make your way down into the ice cave. You can see 1000 year old remnants of frozen plants stuck in the ice, fantastic ice formations, narrow passages and big caverns. After a good while down in the cave, and a nice lunch, we set course back to the dog yard. Having seen the dogs work hard to pull the sled up onto the glacier, it is a delight to see them run easily downhill. On the flat, we will mush at an even tempo, and you will have time to digest the impressions from the day.

After the tour, you can look forward to cuddling with our lovely puppies, and warm yourself with waffles in our cozy cabin.
