Welcome to Funktionærmessen Restaurant, located within the historic Funken Lodge. First opened in 1946, Funken Lodge served as the administration building for the Store Noske Mining Company. This now elegant dining room once served as the canteen for the mining company’s office staff – the “functionaries” – and has long been associated with quality, refinement, and exceptional hospitality.
From its elevated position above the town, the restaurant offers panoramic views across Longyearbyen towards Hiorthfjellet and Longyearbreen. Today, Funktionærmessen blends its rich heritage with a contemporary dining experience that celebrates the building's history and its remarkable Arctic setting.
