Funken Lodge is located on Haugen, a hill just a few minutes' walk from the centre of Longyearbyen. From this vantage point, you'll see beautiful views over the town, fjords and mountains.

Funken Lodge was built in 1946 to house the coal company's administrative staff and miners. The building has evolved over the years, surviving a devastating avalanche in 1953 and later being transformed into the luxurious hotel it is today.
