Family dog yard
You can see it as soon as you come driving up the road to the dogyard; This is a lively place! The once small family from Denmark, moved from Greenland to establish themselves in Bolterdalen. Ten years later, they count two adults, four children, several Greenland dogs, and up to 15 guides in high season. Here they have built guide houses, a family home and a tourist cabin which together form a lovely and lively yard.
The children love to play outside surrounded by happy dogs, and when the small children's fingers get cold, they can warm up with hot chocolate in the tourist cabin. If there are puppies on the farm, you also get plenty of time to cuddle with the little, wild pups.
Central living
Radisson Blu Polar Hotel Spitsbergen is located in the heart of Longyearbyen. Right outside you have a small toboggan run, in addition to a large terrace where you can take breaks from all the play and fun. The hotel will provide a fire pan from 9am-12pm, and you can bring your own thermos with hot chocolate out on the terrace.
You will get one voucher for hot chocolate included in the price. If you need a refill you are welcome to buy it in the reception for NOK 65.
At the hotel we have an activity room for children where they can watch films, draw and color.
The room is provided with beds and a sleeping sofa.
A fun day in the snow cat
Join us on an exciting trip in the great Advent valley. The big, red beltwagon is impossible to miss, and this will be our ride for the day. Inside it is warm and good, everyone gets their own seat with plenty of space, and we have child seats for the little ones. We leave the city and the road, and suddenly we drive off pist in the middle of the valley.
The destination for the trip is our barbecue hut at the foot of Operafjellet. Here we light a fire and the guide brings hot drinks and something to eat. On the outside, there is a good chance that the Svalbard reindeer graze on the barren tundra. This is a nice trip for those who want to experience Longyearbyen's immediate area in a comfortable way, especially suitable for families with children.
Included is guide with necessary safety equipment. Duration: 2-3 hours
Delicious Dinner
Bring your family to restaurant Nansen, where you will get a three course dinner with arctic-asian flavours. We have included one dinner for four persons in the offer. The restaurant is at the hotel, so it is easy accessable for you after a long day out in the wilderness. The restaurant is open from 6 pm, and you can book a seating when ordering the package, or at arrival.
The hotel also has a diner, called Barentz gastropub. Here you can buy burgers and pizzas, as well as other delicios pub food.
