This beautiful hike gives you a little bit of everything: glacier, rocky mountains, amazing views from a bird’s eye perspective – and the guide will bring a happy husky on the tour as well!

Your guide will pick you up at the hotel, and drive to the starting point of the tour: Gruve 7 (Mine 7) – the only mine in the Longyearbyen area which is still active. It is located approximately 15 kilometers south-east from Longyearbyen. The hike starts at about 400m above sea level. Here, the views are fantastic from the first second. We continue our tour across the base of the Foxfonna glacier, named after the Arctic fox. It is approximately 6 kilometres long, and runs from Foxtoppen (955m) and Gilsonryggen (949m) in the south, and northwards over the mountain Breinosa into Adventdalen (the "Advent Valley").

We continue towards Foxdalen (the "Fox Valley"). Here we will take a break at an old trapper's cabin: the perfect place for an expedition lunch. After a tasty warm meal and hot drinks, we head down to Adventdalen, to finish at Camp Barentz. After the tour, you will get dropped off back at your hotel. The total distance of the hike is roughly 11 km.
