Languages spoken: Norwegian and English.
Experience and background: Elias arrived on Svalbard in 2022 to study hunting and outdoor life at Svalbard Folkehøgskole. He started working as a guide in the summer of 2023 and is also an active volunteer with the Longyearbyen Red Cross rescue corps. His hands-on experience and passion for Arctic survival make him a valuable companion in the field.
Special interests: Respect for nature and wildlife is at the core of Elias’ guiding philosophy. He enjoys sharing stories about Svalbard’s rich history, with a particular passion for tales of Arctic trappers and the geopolitical landscape of the region. If you’re interested in Svalbard’s past and present, Elias is your go-to guide.
Favourite activity or experience on Svalbard: Elias finds inspiration in recalling his first encounters with Svalbard’s wild landscapes. Those early experiences left a lasting impression, and he now strives to create similar moments for guests who stay with them long after they leave.
