Wildlife Photography Tour around Longyearbyen
We start the day by picking you up from your accommodation and driving to carefully selected locations. The duration of the tour depends on weather conditions and how quickly we find the wildlife, and it is suitable for everyone, including families with children. We travel by car and take short, easy walks, ranging from 500 meters to 2-3 kilometers.
The main focus is on photographing the Arctic fox, Svalbard reindeer, and Svalbard ptarmigan. From May to September, the birdlife is particularly rich, and we visit several selected locations to provide the best photo opportunities.
From October to April, the focus shifts to general nature photography, but we often see Svalbard reindeer, Svalbard ptarmigan, and Arctic fox. In the winter season, weather and road conditions can affect the duration of the tour.
During the Northern Lights season, we may be lucky enough to see the aurora if the weather is clear. We prepare the cameras for night photography and drive to strategic locations to capture the Northern Lights, starry skies, and night scenes. If we encounter polar foxes, Svalbard ptarmigan, or Svalbard reindeer in the dark, we use LED lights to ensure great photos.
This tour gives you a unique chance to experience and photograph the fantastic wildlife and landscapes of Longyearbyen.
