Join us for an exciting historical experience where you will learn about everything from Svalbard’s days of coal mining to the Global Seed Vault.

Along the route, you will learn more about the rich history of coal mining on Svalbard, and you will see the entrance to the old Coal Mine 3.

We will of course take frequent short breaks to appreciate our surroundings, enjoy a warm drink, and have some cookies.

There is a chance to spot some local wildlife along the way, such as the Svalbard reindeer and the Arctic fox – so keep an eye out for that. You'll also have the chance to admire the stunning view over Isfjorden, with the possibility of spotting fantastic mountain ranges and glaciers in the distance on a clear day. During the dark season you might also be lucky enough to see the Northern Lights.

After the hike we drive up to the Global Seed Vault and you will learn about its interesting history. The Global Seed Vault is located far inside the mountain and you will only be able to see it on the outside.
