Explore Isfjorden with Kvitbjørn

Your guide will pick you up at the hotel and drive to the harbour in Longyearbyen. Here, the hybrid-electric speedboat Kvitbjørn awaits. This 14.9-meter-long boat has a modern design, comfortable seats and a capacity of 12 passengers.

Each day on Svalbard is unique. The light, the wind, the wildlife – you never know exactly what experiences await. On this tour we take advantage of exactly this. Instead of deciding the route way in advance, the captain and guide will make this decision on the same day. What we can say is that we will drive on Isfjorden (the ‘Ice Fjord’). This is the largest fjord on Svalbard.

Magical nature awaits out on the fjord, and if we are lucky, we might encounter some wildlife. In bays, in front of glaciers or when we encounter wildlife, we only use the electric motor. This gives us a completely silent propulsion. Throughout the tour, you will have a 360 view over an endless number of mountains. Svalbard is the only place in the world with such a diversity of geological eras preserved in stone. There are also plenty of remains from historic happenings in the area, such as old trapper cabins and abandoned ports.

We will stay on the boat throughout the tour, but spend plenty of time outside on the aft deck. Here, you really get close to nature. After some hot drinks and freshly baked buns, we set course back to Longyearbyen again.
