Enjoy the comfort and efficiency of a guided tour with electric bikes. On this tour, you get to see many of Longyearbyen's attractions while getting close to nature. This is a great tour also for bird enthusiasts, as we will get up close to the summer’s vivid birdlife.

Your guide will pick you up at the hotel and take you to our expedition centre. Here, you will be provided with a helmet and a bike, and a briefing on how to operate the electric bikes. Electric bikes offer the perfect blend of control, comfort, and stability, especially on the rugged Arctic roads. Their electric assistance provides extra power, particularly on hilly terrain, while their thick tires are ideal for navigating uneven and loose surfaces. We will start the tour from the expedition centre and venture into Longyearbyen.

As we ride through the town, you'll gain a comprehensive overview of this unique settlement. We then proceed onto Burmaveien (the ‘Burma Road’) towards the west. This area is dotted with local cottages and serves as a nesting ground for numerous seabirds. Despite its northern location, Svalbard boasts a distinctive array of animal and plant life. This excursion offers a close encounter with the region's birdlife.

Next, we turn our bikes eastward, cycling into Adventdalen (the ‘Advent Valley’) to observe inland birds, fauna, and the cornerstone of Longyearbyen: the mining industry. Longyearbyen spans 44 km of roads, largely shaped by coal mining activities. Periodically, massive trucks laden with coal rumble along the roads, providing a stark contrast to the serene Arctic surroundings. These encounters serve as poignant reminders of Svalbard's history and Longyearbyen's cultural heritage.

The tour concludes back in Longyearbyen, leaving you with rosy cheeks and enriched with both cultural insights and nature experiences.
