Stay at the world's northernmost full-service hotel

Radisson Blu Polar Hotel Spitsbergen is located right in the center of Longyearbyen, but at the same time close to nature. It is just a short walk to shops, restaurants and the local museums. This is the perfect place to stay for families as well as couples and groups of friends.

In the hotel lobby you can relax in our lounge in front of the fireplace and enjoy a hot drink after a long day of adventure. The hotel also has two restaurants well worth a visit – Restaurant Nansen and Barentz Gastropub.

A dinner at Barentz Gastropub is included in the package. The warm atmosphere and the good seating means that this is a place where you can sit and enjoy yourself with friends or new acquaintances - and it is a favorite among the locals.

Dogsledding by the sea

You will be collected from your hotel, and driven to the start point not far from Svalbard Airport Longyear, where the dogs will be waiting eagerly for your arrival. As the dogs start to run, they become completely silent. Fully focussed on the task at hand, the dogs pull the wagon ahead, so that you can focus on enjoying the fantastic landscape around the coast of the Arctic Ocean towards Bjørndalen, the bear valley.

Keep your eyes open - wildlife is often seen in this area! If you are lucky you may spot Svalbard reindeer, polar foxes, Svalbard grouse, seals and maybe even walrus or whales. During the summer there are often large pods of belugas (white whales) off Vestpynten. Birdlife is also very common, including little auks, Arctic terns and Arctic skuas. We will travel a good distance from the town, and in clear weather the views over the Isfjord are incredible.Read more about the tour here.

Dinner cruise in the sunset

On this evening tour, we sail out on Isfjorden and cruise along the never-ending mountain landscapes. In addition to enjoying a delicious dinner in majestic surroundings, there are good chances that you will spot some wildlife. With some luck we might see a whale or two – and with some extra luck, white-beaked dolphins!

You will travel with the hybrid electric catamaran MS Bard. The engine and propellers are specially designed to minimise the noise and vibration. This not only takes you closer to nature; More importantly, the surrounding wildlife is less disturbed by our presence. Read more about the tour here.
