Combine comfort and efficiency with electric bikes, enabling you to see a range of Longyearbyen's sights while getting close to nature. Maybe you will have to make a quick stop for a Svalbard reindeer or polar fox underway?

GAIN ARCTIC SUPERPOWERS ON AN ELECTRIC BIKE

Electric bicycles are the perfect method of transport on the paved and unpaved roads around Longyearbyen.

Ever felt like you had superpowers? The thought may well occur as every press on the pedal gives you an extra jump forwards. A tour around Longyearbyen will give you a good introduction to the town, before the tour continues towards Burmaveien and then towards the Point in the west. In this area, a number of locals have cabins, and many seabirds and waterfowl come here to search for food in the summer. By autumn, these migratory birds have left the island, but the area is popular with both Svalbard reindeer and polar foxes.

GREAT CONTRASTS FROM THE SEAT OF YOUR BIKE

In Longyearbyen there are 44 kilometres of road, most of which were built for the mining industry, and every now and then the giant trucks filled with coal fly past us on the road. This makes for a massive contrast to the peaceful Arctic landscape which surrounds us otherwise. A little sign of the history of Svalbard, and the industrial heritage of Longyearbyen.

ELECTRIC CYCLING IN THE ARCTIC

You bicycling adventure ends back in Longyearbyen, filled with rich cultural and wilderness experiences, and with rosy red cheeks from the fresh Arctic air. Thanks to the electric motor on the bicycles, we will reach many of the highlights of Longyearbyen on this half day tour. This is a comfortable and fun way to experience the Arctic, getting close to nature from the seat of your bike.
