The tour begins at our expedition centre, where we will be equipped with snowmobile suits and learn about the snowmobile and ´sluffe´, a heated snowmobile trailer suited for small children. From there, we will make our way into Adventdalen at a comfortable pace, while the guide ensure everyone is comfortable, and enjoying themselves. There is a lot of history in Adventdalen, from the heyday of the mining era, World War II and more modern scientific research. It is also common to see Svalbard reindeer, and perhaps a Svalbard grouse will cross our path.
The goal for the tour is Green Dog, located 10 km from Longyearbyen with views towards Gruve 7 - mine number 7. The dog yard is run by a family who have over 20 year of experience with sled dogs, having worked with them on both Svalbard and Greenland. Every year about 15 - 20 puppies are born at the kennel, and you are welcome to have a cuddle with these little heartbreakers. The huskies are very social, and love to be petted. After puppy time we will have a hot drink, before making our way back to Longyearbyen.
