Svalbard is a unique place, which can not be compared with anywhere else. It is the place where you will find more snowmobiles than the number of inhabitants and the city where you meet reindeers on the street.
For most of the year, it is either dark season or midnight sun. And no matter which of the periods you visit the archipelago, we can guarantee a very special light. 19. April starts a long period of midnight sun that makes the opportunities to explore and go on adventures endless. During this period, late evening walks or exploring one of the local mountain tops is a perfect activity.
The world’s northernmost full-service hotel awaits. Newly renovated, and with fantastic facilities, the Radisson Blu Polar Hotel Spitsbergen is centrally located in Longyearbyen, between the award-winning Svalbard Museum and the main shopping area. The hotel boasts an excellent restaurant, with mouth-watering dishes from their Arctic Asian fusion kitchen, as well as the laid-back Barentz Gastropub with hearty meals in a relaxed setting with a broad selection of local and imported drinks. Guests can also enjoy the hotel’s sundeck, where you can enjoy the evening sun with a refreshing beverage.
Camp Barentz boasts an amazing location at the foot of the mountain, Breinosa, right below Mine 7. As we arrive at the cosy wooden cabins we will be met by the evening’s host. Good drinks and a delicious homemade reindeer bidos will be served, together with campfire coffee and dessert. After a delicious dinner, it is time to learn about the king of the Arctic, the polar bear. We will sit around the fire, while our host shares information and photographs of this incredible animal. This will be an exciting evening.
